Selection commands</A>

The low-level commands used to select a text font are as follows.
<#143#>decl<#143#>
|| <#144#>encoding<#144#>
<BR>|| <#145#>family<#145#>
<BR>|| <#146#>series<#146#>
<BR>|| <#147#>shape<#147#>
<BR>|<#148#>size<#148#> <#149#>baselineskip<#149#>
Each of these commands sets one of the font
attributes; |lso sets ||. The
actual font in use is not altered by these commands, but the current
attributes are used to determine which font to use after the next
|| command.
<#151#>decl<#151#>
||
Selects a text font, based on the current values of the font attributes.
<I>Warning</I>: there <I>must</I> be a || command
immediately after any settings of the font parameters by (some of)
the five |;SPMlt;parameter;SPMgt;| commands, before any following text.
For example, it is legal to say:
<#155#>tex2html_preform<#155#><tex2html_verbatim_mark>verbatim39#but it is <I>not</I> legal to say:
<#158#>tex2html_preform<#158#><tex2html_verbatim_mark>verbatim40#You may get unexpected results if you put text between a
|;SPMlt;parameter;SPMgt;| command and a |
<#160#>decl<#160#>
|| <#161#>encoding<#161#> <#162#>family<#162#> <#163#>series<#163#> <#164#>shape<#164#>
A short hand for the equivalent ||call to ||.
